  The ISL72813SEH is a radiation hardened, high-voltage,high-current, driver circuit fabricated using Intersil’sproprietary PR40 silicon-on-insulator process technology tomitigate single-event effects. This device integrates 32 drivercircuits that feature high-voltage, common emitter, andopen-collector outputs with a 42V breakdown voltage and apeak current rating of 600mA.

  To further reduce solution size and increase system powerdensity, the ISL72813SEH integrates a 5-bit to 32-channeldecoder (plus enable pin) as well as level shifting circuitry toreference the output of the decoder to a negative voltage. Thisconveniently allows the user to select 1 of 32 available driverchannels. The inputs to the decoder are TTL/CMOS

  compatible, allowing easy interface to CPUs, FPGAs, orμprocessors.

  The ISL72813SEH operates across the military temperaturerange from -55°C to +125°C and is available in a 44 Ldhermetically sealed Ceramic Lead-Less Chip Carrier (CLCC)package.

  The ISL72813SEHEV1Z evaluation board was designed toprovide a quick and easy method for evaluating theISL72813SEH, 32-channel driver circuit IC. This device is aunique IC. To use this evaluation board properly requires athorough knowledge of the operation of the IC. Refer to theISL72813SEH datasheet for an understanding of the functionsand features of the device.

  The Intersil ISL72813SEH device is a radiation hardened,high-voltage, high-current 32-channel driver circuit with anintegrated decoder for driving and selecting between a bank ofrelays in space applications. It is fabricated using Intersil’sproprietary PR40 silicon-on-insulator process technology tomitigate single-event effects. This device integrates 32 currentdrivers that feature high-voltage, common-emitter andopen-collector outputs with a 42V breakdown voltage andpeak current rating of 600mA.

  The evaluation board has been configured and optimized forthe following conditions:

  • VCC = 5V

  • VEE = -34V

  • Collector output (Cx) load to GND of ≥58Ω (≤600mA)

  • Board temperature: +25°C
