  The i.MX 6Dual and i.MX 6Quad automotive and infotainment processors represent Freescale Semiconductor’s latest achievement in integrated multimedia applications processors. These processors are part of a growing family of multimedia-focused products that offer high-performance processing with a high degree of functional integration. These processors target the needs of the growing automotive infotainment, telematics, HMI, and display-based cluster markets.

  The i.MX 6Dual/6Quad processors feature Freescale’s advanced implementation of the quad ARM® Cortex®-A9 core, which operates at speeds up to 1 GHz. They include 2D and 3D graphics processors, 3D 1080p video processing, and integrated power management. Each processor provides a 64-bit DDR3/LVDDR3/LPDDR2-1066 memory interface and a number of other interfaces for connecting peripherals, such as WLAN, Bluetooth®, GPS, hard drive, displays, and camera sensors.

  i.MX 6Dual和i.MX 6Quad应用处理器主要特性:

  • Multilevel memory system—The multilevel memory system of each processor is based on the L1 instruction and data caches, L2 cache, and internal and external memory. The processors support many types of external memory devices, including DDR3, low voltage DDR3, LPDDR2, NOR Flash, PSRAM, cellular RAM, NAND Flash (MLC and SLC), OneNAND™, and managed NAND, including eMMC up to rev 4.4/4.41.

  • Smart speed technology—The processors have power management throughout the device that

  enables the rich suite of multimedia features and peripherals to consume minimum power in both active and various low power modes. Smart speed technology enables the designer to deliver a feature-rich product, requiring levels of power far lower than industry expectations.

  • Dynamic voltage and frequency scaling—The processors improve the power efficiency of devices by scaling the voltage and frequency to optimize performance.

  • Multimedia powerhouse—The multimedia performance of each processor is enhanced by a multilevel cache system, Neon MPE (Media Processor Engine) co-processor, a multi-standard hardware video codec, 2 autonomous and independent image processing units (IPU), and a programmable smart DMA (SDMA) controller.

  • Powerful graphics acceleration—Each processor provides three independent, integrated graphics processing units: an OpenGL® ES 2.0 3D graphics accelerator with four shaders (up to 200 MT/s and OpenCL support), 2D graphics accelerator, and dedicated OpenVG™ 1.1 accelerator.

  • Interface flexibility—Each processor supports connections to a variety of interfaces: LCD controller for up to four displays (including parallel display, HDMI1.4, MIPI display, and LVDS display), dual CMOS sensor interface (parallel or through MIPI), high-speed USB on-the-go with PHY, high-speed USB host with PHY, multiple expansion card ports (high-speed MMC/SDIO host

  and other), 10/100/1000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet controller, and a variety of other popular interfaces (such as UART, I2C, and I2S serial audio, SATA-II, and PCIe-II).

  • Automotive environment support—Each processor includes interfaces, such as two CAN ports, an MLB150/50 port, an ESAI audio interface, and an asynchronous sample rate converter for multichannel/multisource audio.

  • Advanced security—The processors deliver hardware-enabled security features that enable secure e-commerce, digital rights management (DRM), information encryption, secure boot, and secure software downloads. The security features are discussed in detail in the i.MX 6Dual/6Quad security reference manual (IMX6DQ6SDLSRM).

  • Integrated power management—The processors integrate linear regulators and internally generate voltage levels for different domains. This significantly simplifies system power management structure.

  MarS Board是深圳市英蓓特科技有限公司推出的基于飞思卡尔(Freescale Semiconductor)i.MX 6Dual处理器的评估板。i.MX 6Dual处理器集成了高达1GHz的ARM Cortex™-A9 内核、2D和3D图形处理器和3D 1080p视频处理器。MarS Board评估板具有丰富的接口,包括HDMI接口、LVDS 接口、Mini USB OTG接口、Mini USB Debug接口、RJ45接口、USB Host接口、TF卡接口和LCD显示接口,能够帮助开发者针对上网本、桌面一体机、高端移动互联网设备、高端掌上电脑、高端便携式媒体播放器、游戏机和便携式导航设备等各种不同领域进行开发。

  MarS Board 是什么?

  1.双核独立操作平台

  MarS Board是基于Freescale Cortex-A9架构,主频1GHZ 的最新i.MX6双核处理器设计的硬件平台。

  One Core 运行 Android4.0 OS + 高清显示屏或者9.7寸 LVDS显示屏;

  Another Core运行uCos-II OS+ 4.3寸或7寸触摸屏;

  双核独立运作。如果你只认为MarS Board就这样运行Cortex-A9 双核架构,那您可能错了,因为意想不到的总在后面。

  2.多显示操作平台

  你可以通过LCD接口连接4.3 寸或者7寸LCD触摸屏,你也可以通过LVDS接口连接9.7寸LVDS触摸屏,你同样也可以通过HDMI接口连接高清显示屏。而这些,MarS Board硬件平台都可以助你实现。

  3.多媒体操作平台

  当越来越多的硬件平台支持1080P编解码,MarS Board也不干落后,他可以支持1080p,60 h.264 视频解码,也可以支持1080p30 H.264和 720p 视频编码,支持2D/3D 图形加速能够更好的应用于高级HMI,高清机顶盒,Android TV以及多媒体网络设备行业应用中。

  4.多系统操作平台

  MarS Board支持多种操作系统平台,如Linux,Android4.0,uCos-II,Ubuntu等操作系统。

  5.兼容Raspberry Pi 树莓派

  你是否知道Raspberry Pi树莓派?那你是否知道Raspberry Pi树莓派的扩展模块WiPi,PI-View?没错,MarS Board同样也支持Wipi,PI-View,后续逐渐兼容GertBoard以及Raspberry PI的其他扩展模块。

  6.丰富的外围DIY扩展性平台

  目前已经提供有4.3 寸或者7寸LCD触摸屏,9.7寸LVDS触摸屏,Wipi,PI-View扩展模块支持MarS Board,后续会推出更多兼容性模块+APP模式提供给广大爱好者进行DIY。
