  The LTM®8054 is a 36VIN, buck-boost μModule®(micromodule) regulator. Included in the package are theswitching controller, power switches, inductor and supportcomponents. A resistor to set the switching frequency, aresistor divider to set the output voltage, and input andoutput capacitors are all that are needed to complete thedesign. Other features such as input and output averagecurrent regulation may be implemented with just a fewcomponents. The LTM8054 operates over an input voltagerange of 5V to 36V, and can regulate output voltagesbetween 1.2V and 36V. The SYNC input and CLKOUToutput allow easy synchronization.

  The LTM8054 is housed in a compact overmolded ballgrid array (BGA) package suitable for automated assemblyby standard surface mount equipment. The LTM8054 isRoHS compliant.

  LTM8054演示板DC2016A

  Demonstration circuit 2016A features the LTM8054, asynchronous buck-boost μModule regulator that acceptsinput voltages lower, higher or the same as the output,but is also highly efficient due to its four-switch architecture.

  The output for DC2016A is 12V and the inputvoltage range is 6V to 35V – see the LTM8054 data sheetfor application circuits with input voltages up to 36V.

  The maximum output current of DC2016A is 3A and theswitching frequency is 600kHz.

  DC2016A supports the adjustable and controllable featuresof the LTM8054 including output voltage and currentregulation, switching frequency, RUN threshold, softstartperiod, synchronization and reverse inductor currentinhibit. In most cases, adjustment is made by modifyingthe appropriate resistor or capacitor component(s).

  DC2016A provides output current monitoring and a clockoutput. Input current monitoring and regulation requiresthe installation of a current sense resistor. The SVIN inputfor controller power can be made a diode-OR of powerVIN and the output voltage to extend the operating rangeof power VIN to lower voltages. There are places to mountoptional components that add an LC input filter and also aunity gain buffer to operate multiple DC2016As in parallel.
